Dear Jaxon friends,

I am devasted by yesterday’s government announcement that beauty and tanning salons have to remain closed. I have challenged this with my local MP who replied :

“The chance of getting an infection is greatly raised by the time people spend in close proximity and whether they are indoors or outdoors.   As we begin to reopen the economy, it’s important that we do not increase the risk of transmission which is why “close proximity” venues such as nightclubs, soft-play areas, indoor gyms, swimming pools, water parks, bowling alleys and spas will need to remain closed for now.

It was clearly the case that, looking at the evidence, it was felt too great a risk at the moment to allow nail bars and beauty salons to reopen on 4th July.  However, I can assure you that the Government is continuing to work with these sectors to establish taskforces to help them to become COVID Secure and reopen as soon as possible”.

Personally I am astounded by this response when clearly with reduced numbers in the salon, screens and PPE, disinfecting after every client (unlike retail stores) we will be operating one of the most Covid-19 secure businesses. It appears we can have a two hour hair treatment but not a 30 minute beauty treatment.

I applied the government obligations weeks ago and today’s government update guidelines appear to add nothing more.  I am now checking the updates in detail and will amendment as necessary – it may not be a riveting read!  but can be seen here.  A summary of the key points can be seen on the Infographic and many of the measures we are all already getting used to in our return to work place.

I would like to thank all our clients who have shown their unrelenting support and who are ready to book back with us – thank you from us all. We all look forward to welcoming you back to Jaxon.

Warm regards

Always so professional and friendly / welcoming atmosphere. I’m always put at ease from the moment I walk in and my therapist is consistently brilliant in customer care and treatments! There’s no where else I’d go to for an overall experience and expert finishes on the treatments I get!!!
